1. If you are going to be an affiliate for a product, people are going to want to know what you think of the product. By posting a product review on your website, you tell those who are interested in the product that you have used it and that you are not just blindly selling it.

2. Along the same line as a product review, you should include testimonials. Testimonials help people make up there mind because they are reading what people like them think about the product. These could be the difference between someone purchasing your product or someone passing up on it.

3. Each product you are selling should have its own, unique web page. Web hosting is not expensive and it looks much more professional if you have a single product per page. You can also put the testimonials and product reviews onto the page, which would not look good with multiple products on a page.

4. Tell them what benefits they will get from buying the product. Few people that are going to look at your product are going to want to know what the features are, but rather want to know what they gain from buying the product. Spend more time telling how the product will save them time or money rather than the features of it.

5. It is not as important to get a lot of people to your site, as it is to get people that are interested in your product. To do this you are going to need to promote your webpage. The best way to do this is to write articles and post them through blogs and other sites. It is important that you write the articles about the subject of the product, otherwise the traffic you are drawing to your site will not be the right traffic.

Know your Readers-
Think in terms of your reader.What is he looking for? What would trigger him to purchase? Start with your reader in mind rather than the product. If you take this approach you could end up doing your reader a favor as well as making a few dollars on the side.

Genuine Recommendations are Effective-
There are literally hundreds of Travel affiliates for you to choose from to recommend to your blog’s readers but making money from them is not as simple as randomly adding links to them from your blog. Your blog’s readers come back to your blog day after day because they trust you and the quickest way to destroy this is to recommend something that you don’t fully believe will benefit them.

Only Recommend Quality Products-
We all like to spend our money on quality products -your readers are just the same and are more likely to make a purchase if you’ll recommend them the best product.Choose products and companies with good reputations and quality sales pages. There is nothing worse than giving a positive review of a product only to send your reader to a page that looks cheap and nasty.

Don’t Cheat your Readers-
Don’t try to fool your readers into clicking links that could make you money. While it may not always feasible to label all affiliate links I think some attempt should be made to let people know what type of link they are clicking on. I also think consistency is important with this so readers of your blog know what to expect.

Tracking Software-
Most travel affiliate programs have at least some type of tracking software which will allow you to watch which links are effective. Some of these packages are better than others but most will at least allow you to see what is selling and what isn’t. Watching your results can help you plan future affiliate efforts. Keep track of what positions for links work well, which products sell, what wording around links works well etc and use the information that you collect as you work plan future affiliate strategies.

Offer Bonus-
Add value to the affiliate promotion by either adding a bonus of your own to the offer or getting the person behind the product to offer a bonus or discount just for your readers.

Patience is the Key-
Making money from blogs (through any method) takes time. While an affiliate program does have the potential to make you a lot of money very quickly – it almost always comes after a lot of work and once you’ve spent a lot of time and effort building out your network.The early days of building your network may see very little results.
